Learning by Doing

Happy Halloween! Here at the ZURB office we're in full costume, riding on sugar highs from all the goodies that were made for the team. Hope you're also enjoying your ghoulish day!

In last month's newsletter, we highlighted our evolution as a company. As we evolve our business, all our assumptions about our company continue to be challenged. We've looked for patterns of success, failures that weren't staring us in the face and relied on the input from our customers and employees. It's been a tiring and inspiring effort.

One thing has remained constant — our quest to share our product design knowledge. From our early beginnings, helping our clients understand the complexities of building products online was a key differentiator of our service. As we matured those services, we spent more time sharing our experiments on the Playground. Most recently, we've invested a ton of time on open-sourcing Foundation, a top 25 open-source project, so that other designers can build amazing responsive web pages. It's been a rewarding journey that's only been possible because of our own quest to learn.

It's this realization that has gotten us very excited about the opportunities that will emerge when we move into our new building. Our Soapboxes will have a proper event space and our space will be open to those ready to learn. And with that, we love your feedback and appreciate all the kudos, keep sharing your insights with us!

Now on to the news!

Foundation 3.2 is Here!

We've been working hard at ensuring Foundation remains the most advanced responsive framework in the world. This month, we pushed another update to our framework, cleaning up the docs and adding some new plugins, such as Clearing, a new responsive image gallery lightbox. We've also given the Yeti a Halloween costume!

Announcing Solidify, A New User Testing and Prototype App

We're pleased to finally release Solidify out into the wild. As many of you know, the app had previously only been available in private release so that we could get extensive user feedback and iterate on its features. Now everyone can sign-up and build clickable prototypes for user testing.

Introducing Responsive Sketchsheets

To help others see early on how responsive sites will scale down (or up for those designing mobile-first), we created some responsive sketchsheets. Now you can sketch out your designs from the desktop view all the way down to the smartphone (and up again!).
