As the year comes to an end, we can't help but reflect back on everything that's happened. It's been a huge year of growth for ZURB and we owe a lot of our good fortune to the rise of
Foundation. Over the last year, we've evolved our responsive front-end framework by continuously using it on our products
and client projects. It's been battle tested every day and it's been fun to see it evolve with the community. It truly has become our building blocks to designing responsively. Early next year, we'll be releasing 4.0, our most ambitious effort yet.
What have we learned? People really want to understand how to design responsively. And we're going to continue to feed that hunger.
How will we continue to evolve? Embrace mobile — its growth is significantly larger than desktop use. We need to provide the means to help people create responsive products and sites with a mobile-first mentality. Product designers can't afford to ignore small-screen devices anymore in the coming year.
This newsletter is a great example. Two years ago only 9% of people read our newsletter on a mobile device. Now over 40% of readers open it on a phone or tablet. And each month it ticks upward. Want further proof? In the last 25 days, our responsive newsletter templates were viewed 170k times. That's a hunger we intend to feed.
So to celebrate our love for responsive design, we not only sent the snakecube blocks as gifts, but we also created a fun little drawing game that works across devices to play. Enjoy!
